Yemaya ‘Mother whose children are fish, Queen of the Sea, is the source of all waters. She is the orisha of fertility she gave birth to the stars, the moon and most of the Orishas. She is nurturing but can be unpredictably violent, protectress of fishermen ensuring them safe passage back to shore. She is generous and calm, but she knows how to be cumnning and stern. She is responsible for ori, the conscience of all maintaining the emotional and mental balance of human beings.
